CONNECT WITH THE BMAP COMMUNITY
- Sat, Jun 05BarneveldThis 70-acre property contains a diverse mix of restored southern dry-mesic woodland; a remnant dry, postage-stamp prairie; and a well-established planted prairie. Much of the oak woodland has been burned with excellent results and the prairie remnant still supports a number of desirable species.
- Sat, Jun 19Mount HorebMike and Nancy manage 66 acres of woods and restored prairies in the Town of Perry. For the past 20 years they have been working to create native prairies, manage for oak woods, and control invasive plants. Their property includes a dry, sandy goat prairie, sedge meadow, and oak woods.
- Sat, Jul 10Black EarthThis 105-acre property has a variety of ecotypes including wetland and sedge meadow along Vermont Creek, various prairie plantings, oak woodland, and savanna restoration in-progress. On our tour we’ll see some of the results of 25 years of management including regular prescribed burning.
- VariousVariousThis is an exclusive opportunity for BMAP members to work on plant ID, to become familiar with the plant communities of southwestern Wisconsin, and (most importantly) to learn in camaraderie. Pre-registration will open on April 15th and close on April 29th.
