About the event
A cold-water stream flows from south to north on the eastern property boundary and separates a spruce and evergreen planting from the larger property. In the past three years, the bottomland was cleared of large stands of boxelder, honeysuckle, and buckthorn resulting in the reemergence of wet prairie and sedge species. Three acres within the toe slope between the woodland and bottomland have been prepped and seeded for prairie. Future projects include controlling invasive plants in the bottomland and prairie as well as beginning management and restoration of woodlands.
