About the event

Join Naturalist Rob Schubert for a walk at Barneveld Prairie State Natural Area. This natural area contains a mix of remnant and restored prairies, oak savanna, and wetlands.  This mix of habitats supports diversity of plants and wildlife.  We will meet at the Botham Segment Parking Area located at Langberry Rd and Lee Dr.  This segment was recently burned as part of patch burn-graze management. Areas visited will be determined in part by the location of the grazing cattle. Time permitting we will also visit a nearby sedge meadow and wet prairie located near Highway K and Prairie Grove Rd.

Rob Schubert works for Quercus Land Stewardship Services specializing in ecological restoration and invasive plant management.

For the Botham tract: from the intersection of County ID and County K in Barneveld, go south on K 2 miles, then west on Langberry Road nearly 0.6 mile to a parking area north of the road.
